Sustainable Travel – Big Announcement
Today, we want to dedicate our blog to a huge announcement we have been working on for some time. We couldn’t wait to tell you all about it.
We all share a passion for travel but we also all know that various methods of transportation cause emissions and thus are bad for the environment. Therefore, we want to do everything we can to preserve the planet we are so keen to explore. After doing a load of research about how we can help make a difference and move towards more sustainable travel, we came across Eden Reforestation Projects.
Who are they?
Eden Reforestation was first set up in 2004 by Dr Steve Fitch. Dr Fitch, himself, has witnessed the detrimental effect that deforestation has on the environment, and the local villages in “third world cultures”. Not only has the ecosystem been affected, but also the locals whose lives were destroyed by the poverty deforestation brought.
Today, Eden Reforestation Project has planted over 100,000,000 trees and gave jobs to over 3,500 full and partial season village workers in Nepalm Madagascar, Haiti, Indonesia and Ethiopia. Their aim is high. This amazing company is keen to plant at least 100 million trees each year by 2020. Consequently, giving jobs to more and more local villagers, allowing them to provide for their families.
How do we contribute?
Where do we come in? Impressed by their story and dedicated to making a positive impact, we decided to commit to Eden Reforestation long-term. This is not a one-off donation. For every gift card you buy and every flight you book with us, together, we plant a tree.
How do you help?
So by working with us, we do more than help others make memories. We help reforestation, we give villagers jobs and we fight poverty. So make your travel experience one that makes a difference. Work with us for the future of our planet.
